A web platform for accommodation on the Romanian Black Sea coast, signed "by costinesti.ro" in its logo. Travellers search for places to stay by resort, dates and number of guests, and owners can add their properties from an account.

The project story

  1. Context

    The website presents itself as an intermediary platform between travellers and accommodation on the coast, from villas and guesthouses to flats and hotels. Bookings are sent as requests, which the property then accepts or declines.

  2. The approach

    On the live website, search comes first: the search bar sits over the hero photograph, followed by properties, recommendations and resorts. Each resort and each property has its own page.

  3. The solution

    The platform, built on WordPress, includes search by location, dates and guests, a map search page with filters and sorting, pages for 18 resorts, property pages with rooms, facilities, house rules and reviews, accounts for guests and owners, and pages for support, frequently asked questions and the publishing policy.

Features and characteristics

  • Search by dates and guests

    Location, check-in, check-out and number of guests and rooms, right in the hero; on a phone the fields stack one under another.

  • Map search

    Results appear on a map, with a nightly price filter, property type (villa, guesthouse, flat, hotel and so on), sorting and the option to search as the map moves.

  • Resort pages

    A page for each of the 18 resorts, from Mamaia Nord to Vama Veche, with a description of the resort and the properties there.

  • Property page

    Description, facilities, check-in and check-out times, policies, rooms with prices, map location and reviews across eight criteria (cleanliness, staff, location, price and more).

  • Booking or question

    From the property page, guests send a booking request for given dates and party size, or a question to the owner.

  • Accounts for guests and owners

    At sign-up, users choose their type: guest or "Add property"; properties can be saved to favourites.

  • Support and publishing rules

    Pages for frequently asked questions and booking support, plus a publishing policy for owners, with rules on descriptions, photographs and moderation.

What stands out

  • A white, rounded search bar laid over a photograph of the beach at sunset; on a phone it becomes a card with the fields stacked.
  • A navy top bar with the support phone number and email address, navy buttons and coral stars.
  • Property cards built the same way throughout: photograph, stars, address, review score, starting nightly price and a button through to the rooms.
  • The publishing policy asks owners not to put contact details in their descriptions, so that bookings go through the platform.
  • Resort pages combine a text about the resort with the list of properties in that resort.
